Challenger Space Shuttle

January 28, 1986, The Challenger was ready for lift-off.  Tragically, the space shuttle exploded seventy-three seconds into its flight.  It took the life of seven astronauts, including schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe.  Mae Jemison was saddened by this tragedy, however, this didn't stop her from changing her mind about wanting to fly into space.
